From Chief Darron Sparks of the Anderson Police Department:

Do you know what the Juvenile Curfew law is?

A child 15, 16, or 17 years of age should be home:

By 11:00 P.M. on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights

By 1:00 A.M. on Friday and Saturday nights.

A child less than 15 years of age should be home:

By 11:00 P.M. every night of the week.

A child in violation of the curfew law will be taken into custody by a Law Enforcement Officer unless the child is:

1)      accompanied by the child’s parent, guardian, or custodian; or

2)      accompanied by an adult specified by the child’s parent, guardian, or custodian; or

3)      Participating in, going to, or returning from lawful employment, a school sanctioned activity, or a religious event.

Several Juvenile Curfew Sweeps are conducted by the Anderson Police Department during the school year and summer to enforce the Juvenile Curfew Law for the safety of our children.
